Day 1, Feb. 18th: Arrival & night at Kumarakom

Day 2, Feb. 19th: Relax & enjoy Vembanad Lake & Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

Day 3, Feb. 20th: AM at Kumarakom, transfer to Thattekad

A classic Kerala experience and the perfect way to adjust to the time-change after your arrival, relax at the blissful estuarine wetlands on the shores of Vembanad Lake, India's longest lake. The “Kerala Backwaters” are a network of idyllic lagoons and canals, and one of the biggest attractions of the region. Our eco-lodge is located right alongside the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, so you can unwind, adjust and enjoy some birds over 2 nights here at Kumarakom, while you enjoy wonderful food, in the heart of Kerala's famous backwaters region. 

Post-Tour: Kabini at Nagarhole National Park: March 4 - 7, 2028

Safari & birding, with an excellent chance at Bengal Tiger

Day 1, Mar. 4th: Transfer from Bangalore to Kabini, night at Kabini River Lodge.

Day 2 & 3, Mar. 5th & 6th: On safari at Nagarhole NP, nights at Kabini River Lodge.

Day 4, Mar. 7th: Transfer to (BLR) Bangalore/Bengaluru.

Based at Kabini River Lodge, one of southern India's most renowned wildlife lodges, explore beautiful riverine landscapes with excellent opportunities to spot elephants, gaur, deer, crocodiles, and also leopards and tigers during guided jeep and boat safaris. Certainly one of India’s most spectacular national parks, if seeing big mammals is a priority, this option is a great one that could even net you a couple new birds to boot.
